Description(-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is an antioxidant polyphenol flavonoid that exerts many biological actions. For example, it exerts anti-tumor properties by inhibiting telomerase and DNA methyltransferase activity, it blocks the activation of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2), it reduces skeletal muscle atrophy beside reported anti-aging property and increases myogenic differentiation.

Description[6]-Gingerol is a naturally occurring bioactive compound found in ginger (Zingiber officinale). Gingerol is known to possess anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and antioxidant properties. Furthermore, it down regulates proinflammatory cytokine release by macrophages. It has been shown to inhibit COX-2 expression by blocking the activation of p38 MAP kinase and NF-κB in phorbol ester-stimulated mouse skin.
