Tyrosinase inhibition activity
Tyrosinase inhibition activity
EGP250.00 – EGP600.00 / SampleTyrosinase is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in melanin production, which is responsible for the color of skin, hair and eyes. It is a copper-containing enzyme that catalyzes the rate limiting step in melanin biosynthesis, converting tyrosine to DOPA. Tyrosinase is located in melanocytes, which are specialized in producing melanin. The enzyme is involved in two reactions of melanin synthesis, the monophenol hydroxylation (conversion of tyrosine to L-Dopa) and the conversion of o-diphenol to their corresponding o-quinone (dopachrome). Inhibition of tyrosinase activity has been targeted for the improvement and prevention of hyperpigmentation.
